Life begins at the end of your comfort zone

life begins at the end of your comfort zone

Welcome back everyone! Before we jump right into things, make sure to check out the 1st half of this video series at ‘How a Different Perspective Can Change Your Future‘, before viewing or reading ‘Life Begins at the End of your Comfort Zone.’

In today’s post, I want to share with you my current direction for this blog.  As with everything in life, this blog is a work in progress. How I am currently imaging this blog, is probably not what it will ultimately look like, but today I will cover what my ultimate goal for this year is.

Looking at my progression as a business owner, I’ve known that I wanted to be a motivational speaker in both personal & business topics.  I’ve had people ask me,

“But why would you want to be a speaker?”

It truly boils down to one simple thing.  My overall mission is to help as many people as I can. The bottom line is, I am truly happiest when I know I am helping people.
I had considering blogging for a few brief moments but never seriously until I recently met a young blogger.  She made me realize that blogging could become a passion for me, that it could help me reach many more people, that it could help those people become successful in business and life. She sparked a response in me, and I acted upon it!

But now how is that going to look?

Now that I am here, where do I want to go next?

What I hope to do with this blog series is chronicle my growth as a business owner, review things I’ve learned in past, and talk about the new stuff I am learning how to do (like blogging!).

In my blog series, I want to cover a multitude of topics.
– Business topics, because we business owners have to spend as much time working on our business, as working in our business.
– Educational topics, because you have to grow yourself to grow your business.
– Personal topics, like health or looking the part, as they relate to business.

Some of my interests that I’d also like to cover are money, marketing, customers, business associates, education, goals, giving, mentoring, collaborations and mindset, just to name a few.

Are you scared yet?

I found my overall goal for this year when I saw Wynonna Judd, a Country singer from the 1990s on her short-lived stint with Dancing with the Stars 2013. She was asked:

’Why do you want to do this?’

Wynonna said that it was the sixth year producers had asked her to take part, but the first time she had seriously considered it. Why?

“Because it’s the year of doing things that you’re scared of.”

After hearing that, I knew immediately that my overall goal for this year was to step out of my comfort zone and do what I am scared to do.

But strangely, choosing the goal of ‘doing What I was scared to do” was easy.

Why? Because when I looked back over my life, the times I grew as a person were when I stepped out of my comfort zone.  Yes, it was hard to do.  In some cases, stepping out of my comfort zone was extremely hard to do!  But whether I failed or succeeded, I knew I had I tried and the just trying was satisfying. I learned from my failures, and I learned from my success. I grew because I kept trying, because I was consistent.   If I failed I got up, dusted myself off, and tried again.  If I succeed, I kept pushing myself to find out why I had succeeded, and I pushed myself to find what I was truly scared to do.

I am looking forward to sharing with you my adventures in stepping out of my comfort zone. So for today’s challenge, I want to know,

What are you doing to step out of your comfort zone?

From attending a networking lunch where you know no one to taking the leap in starting your own business, please share your experience!

The next two topics in my blog series are “My reason for choosing a home-based business” and “My reasons for choosing Network Marketing”.

Until next time; Take time to live a life that inspires your work.
